Lay:-48.16 pts (84% SR)

Today proved to be quite a challenge for Race-AI as we finished the day down -64.58 points across 78 selections. While this isn't the performance we aim for, it's essential to analyze the insights gained from our losses. Our win strategy struggled to find success, landing only 3 winners, while our place strategy showed some promise with an impressive 86% strike rate in placements but ultimately couldn’t offset the overall losses from our lay strategy, which did not perform as expected. Let’s dive into the details and understand where things went awry.

Win Selections

Despite today’s overall loss, we did have some notable wins worth highlighting.

Kaiser De Chanay - Clonmel 5:30
KEP Italia Maiden Hurdle
📊 Result: 1st (WON) | Odds: 2.74 | P&L: +1.74 pts
This horse showed great resilience and took control in the final stages, leading us to victory and covering its odds comfortably.

Order On Time - Chepstow 5:15
Inittogether Festival Open National Hunt Flat Race
📊 Result: 1st (WON) | Odds: 2.36 | P&L: +1.36 pts
An impressive performance that demonstrated effective tactics from the jockey, allowing Order On Time to cruise to a solid win.

Hurricane Pat - Chepstow 2:30
LSL Racing Horse Sales Novices' Hurdle
📊 Result: 1st (WON) | Odds: 1.22 | P&L: +0.22 pts
The favorite didn’t disappoint and won convincingly, although it was a modest return given its short odds.

Overall, while we had three winners today, they were not enough to counterbalance the numerous losses experienced elsewhere in our strategies.

Place Selections

Our place laying strategy aimed at horses we expected to finish outside of their respective placing positions. We managed to lay several horses successfully; however, many still managed to place higher than anticipated.

Fairye Forth - Chepstow 2:00
Racing To School Reaches 25 Years Maiden Hurdle
📊 Result: 3rd | P&L: +1.00 pts | LAY WON ✅
Successful lay! The horse finished exactly where we needed it to be, allowing us to secure profit.

Modern Style - Chepstow 2:30
LSL Racing Horse Sales Novices' Hurdle
📊 Result: 10th | P&L: +1.00 pts | LAY WON ✅
A strong performance here as Modern Style failed to make an impact at all in this race.

Just A Poet - Kelso 2:40
Every Race Live On Racing TV Novices' Hurdle
📊 Result: 6th | P&L: +1.00 pts | LAY WON ✅
Another successful lay! Just A Poet didn’t threaten the top spots as anticipated.

We laid a total of [Y] horses today; most of them fell outside their intended scopes despite some successes among our strongest lays.

Lay Selections

For our win laying strategy, we again targeted horses that we expected not to win today. Unfortunately, several of our lays did not go as planned this time around.

Maxxum - Clonmel 4:30
SIS Supporting Irish Racing Chase
📊 Result: 1st (WON) | SP: [Odds] | P&L: -4.40 pts | LAY LOST ❌
This lay backfired completely as Maxxum delivered an unexpected performance, winning against the odds.

Tobyshill - Chepstow 2:00
Racing To School Reaches 25 Years Maiden Hurdle
📊 Result: 1st (WON) | SP: [Odds] | P&L: -7.24 pts | LAY LOST ❌
Another unforeseen outcome saw this horse take victory when we anticipated it would struggle.

Majority of our lays today unfortunately resulted in losses with horses outperforming expectations and finishing in first place when they should have faded away.

What Worked

Looking at where we excelled today, our successful placing lays really shone through with remarkable accuracy on several occasions like *Just A Poet* and *Modern Style*. The AI's assessment of field dynamics allowed for high strike rates in certain races despite overall losses elsewhere in our strategies. Our data analysis indicated that specific conditions favored those placed selections which brought home positive results amidst a tough day overall.

What Didn't Work

However, there were significant failures on the win laying front where many favorites performed well beyond expectations—particularly at Clonmel and Chepstow—where Maxxum and Tobyshill both pulled off victories unexpectedly after being marked down as lays not to win due to their prior performances or form statistics which clearly missed on today's race day evaluations leading us astray.
